The Northridge Vikings effort to come back from down four runs in the sixth inning came up just short, as they fell 9-8 to Marysville on Saturday.
In the second inning, Northridge got their offense started when Caroline Liggett singled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run.
The Vikings were right in it until Marysville homered in the sixth inning. Marysville scored three runs in the sixth inning on a home run by S Wade.
Northridge scored five runs in the attempted comeback on an error, a single by Madie Legg, and a home run by Megan Payne.
#5 led the Marysville to victory in the circle. She surrendered six runs on five hits over five and two-thirds innings, striking out one and walking one. The Vikings tallied seven hits in the game. Halleigh Carter and Payne each racked up multiple hits for Northridge. Payne and Carter all had two hits to lead the team.
Marysville saw the ball well, racking up ten hits in the game. J Young and L Potter all had multiple hits for Marysville.
