Four runs batted in from Halleigh Carter helped lead Northridge past Worthington Christian 15-1 on Tuesday. Carter drove in runs on a single in the third and a sacrifice fly in the 4th.
Northridge got things moving in the first inning, when Madie Legg singled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run.
In the bottom of the first inning, Worthington Christian tied things up at one. #22 lined out, scoring one runner on a throwing error by the centerfielder.
The Vikings pulled away for good with six runs in the second inning. In the second inning singles were collected by Legg and Ali Zigo as well as doubles from Caroline Liggett, Savanna Verhovec, Halleigh Carter and Megan Payne.
Northridge scored six runs in the third inning. Lizzie Looker, Carter, Payne, Alyson Quinlan, and Mandy Shults each had RBIs in the frame.
Legg was the winning pitcher for the Vikings. She went five innings, allowing one run on four hits and striking out four.
Northridge tallied 12 hits on the day. Carter, Caroline Liggett, Legg, and Zigo all managed multiple hits on the day. Zigo, Legg, Liggett, and Carter all had two hits to lead Northridge Vikings Varsity.
