The Northridge High School Girls Cross Country team placed 4th overall out of 20 teams in the Division III varsity race at the McGowan Invitational at Watkins Saturday, missing 3rd place by just one point. The team was led by strong finishes for junior Megan King, who placed fifth with a time of 20:15 and, close behind, freshman Olyvia Ashbrook, who placed seventh with a time of20:41. The other three scoring positions included sophomore Makayla Harris at 22:42, sophomore Riley Bunstine at 23:27, and freshman Megan Miller at 23:44.
The Boys Cross Country team placed 26th out of 28 teams at the McGowan. Top finishers included sophomore Rex Bammerlin at 19:23, freshman Nicholas Houck at 19:28, junior Isaac Sweetman at 20:46, junior Brian Scott at 21:07, and freshman Gerran Small 21:40.
The Vikings will compete next Saturday at the Newark Invitational.
